Cane River Lake closed until further notice

The Cane River Lake is now closed.

The Lake Patrol says as of Monday morning, most of the boating traffic on the lake has stopped. The only boats allowed on the lake for now are non-powered or use an electric trolling motor. All other motors must be taken off the boats before they can go into the water.

Kisatchie National Forest will host its annual “Celebrating Wildflowers Event” on Saturday, May 12, 2012 with a prairie tour on the Winn Ranger District.

The tour will begin at the Winn Ranger District Work Center at 9:30 a.m.
