Natchitoches Parish officials advise citizens that the Cane River lake is still closed to boating traffic as of Monday. Authorities say only non-powered and trolling motor boats are allowed to be on the river. The closure is due to high water.
Residents can expect the river to remain closed to boating traffic until the lake drops down to a level of 98.5 inches and continues to fall.
