Seven parishes in northwest Louisiana will get a share of $9M in property tax payments thanks to natural gas and oil drilling.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation will present the checks at Police Jury meetings in Bienville, Bossier, DeSoto, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine and Webster Parishes.

GIBSLAND, LA (KSLA) - Officials with the Town of Gibsland, Louisiana in Bienville Parish issued Thursday a Boil Advisory for the entire town.

According to town leaders, the town had been experiencing problems with it's water supply and because of those problems, the water produced by our water supply system is of questionable microbiological quality.

Effective immediately all residents within the town are advised to boil all water for one full minute before use or consumption.

The South Claiborne Water System is experiencing problems with the water supply system and as a result some customers have been put under an immediate Boil Advisory.

Customers of the South Claiborne Water System who live off of Highway 518 to Point Pleasant Road, Highway 519 to Volentime Road and Barnes Road West to Highway 533 East are affected.
