Town of Gibsland now under Boil Advisory

The entire Town of Gibsland, Louisiana has been put under a mandatory boil advisory.

The order went out Thursday morning. All residents of Gibsland have been advised to boil all water for at least one full minute before use or consumption.

It is unknown what prompted the immediate boil order. Stay tuned for updates for when the advisory will be lifted.

Boil advisory lifted for parts of South Claiborne Water System

A boil advisory for some customers on the South Claiborne Water System has been lifted. System officials said the boil advisory was needed because of problems with the supply system. The only customers affected by the boil advisory were west of intersection Hwy. 518 and Hwy. 146 to Gladney Farm Rd. Water tested by the Department of Health and Hospitals came back showing the water was safe.

NATCHITOCHES – The City of Natchitoches reminds residents and businesses that mandatory water restrictions remain in effect.

Mandatory water restrictions include:

Level 3:  Mandatory:  Odd-numbered addresses may use water outdoors only on Sundays.  Even-numbered or unnumbered addresses and golf courses may use water outdoors on Saturdays.  No outdoor water use is allowed on scheduled days between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m.

Some customers on the South Claiborne Water System are now on a boil advisory. System officials say the boil advisory is needed because of problems with the supply system. The only customers affected by the boil advisory are west of intersection Hwy. 518 and Hwy. 146 to Gladney Farm Rd. The advisory will remain in effect until water samples are cleared by the Department of Health and Hospitals.

Folks on the Chee Chee Bay Water System, which is in the northern part of Natchitoches Parish, no longer have to boil their water. The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals says the water passed its testing and is safe to drink.

The Chee Chee Bay Water System in the northern part of Caddo Parish is under a boil advisory until further notice due to a SWEPCO power outage. Anyone with questions can call 318-663-2072.
