On Wednesday, August 24th, two volunteers from the Northwest Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross will head to a staging area in North Carolina in the Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) for a possible disaster response from Hurricane Irene.

Volunteers Rachel Byrd of Shreveport and Lonzo Sheffield of Bossier City will be leaving in the ERV at 9am from the Red Cross chapter, located at 4221 Linwood Avenue in Shreveport.

LifeShare Blood Centers will hold a blood drive on the campus of Northwestern State University in conjunction with the beginning of the Fall semester. The LifeShare bus will be parked in the pedestrian walkway between Kyser Hall and Williamson Hall from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22-Wednesday, Aug. 24.
