Keep Natchitoches Beautiful has been awarded a $4,700 Community Grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful, a non-profit organization formed to assist Louisiana in reducing litter by funding programs that emphasize education, enforcement and cleanups.

The grant proceeds will be used in part to fund educational programs in Natchitoches schools, explaining to students about the importance of keeping Natchitoches a clean, litter-free community.

The Fuller Center for Housing of Webster Parish will host the its 3rd Annual Blitz Build From October 17 through the 21. We will host volunteers from all over the world and build eight new homes and rehabilitate seven other homes in five days. A boil advisory for some customers on the South Claiborne Water System has been lifted. System officials said the boil advisory was needed because of problems with the supply system. The only customers affected by the boil advisory were west of intersection Hwy. 518 and Hwy. 146 to Gladney Farm Rd. Water tested by the Department of Health and Hospitals came back showing the water was safe.
