Students get crash course in distracted driving

MARSHALL, TX- Navigating a golf cart through a series of traffic cones seemed easy for some, but students at TSTC learned how texting while driving made it much more difficult. The students at the Marshall based college drove carts through a course while wearing goggles simulating intoxication and while sending a text message.

Teenager killed in Bienville Parish rollover

BIENVILLE PARISH, LA (KSLA)- A Bienville Parish teen was killed and two other people were seriously injured after their pickup truck crashed Tuesday night.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. on Highway 4 in Bienville Parish between the Danville and Friendship areas.

LA Fire Marshal: Ebarb woman set fire intentionally

EBARB, LA (KSLA)- The Louisiana State fire marshal confirmed that a woman severely burned in a Sabine Parish house fire intentionally set it herself.

Police say 51-year-old Teresa Carter is listed in critical condition at LSU Health's burn unit and is on a ventilator after a fire at her mobile home in Ebarb Wednesday.

NATCHITOTCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA)-The hunt is on for a man wanted in connection with a double homicide suspect who escaped from custody in Natchitoches Parish Friday morning.  

According to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones, Jr., deputies were in the process of interviewing Reado N. Nargo, age 30, of 114 Vaughn St., Campti, LA, in connection with a double homicide that occurred Wednesday night, in Campti.

Cleanup begins at burned down Logansport church

LOGANSPORT, LA (KSLA)-Cleanup has begun at the Logansport church that burned down on Christmas Eve.

"That's good for us, because we're tired of looking at ashes," says First Baptist Church pastor Lance Cypert. "We're ready to start the process of rebuilding, and we know until that's cleaned up, we can't even think about it."

The church has held services in the fellowship hall since the fire. Pastor Cypert says they're just about out of space there.
