Construction worker dies from injuries after freak dumptruck accident

DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A 64-year-old construction worker out of DeSoto Parish died, Saturday from injuries recieved after a freak accident with a dump truck Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened on Truevine Rd. off of Highway 533 in southeastern DeSoto Parish, shortly after 12:30 p.m.

According to Chief Deputy, Pat Cobb of the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office, construction workers were overlaying Truevine Rd. at the time of the accident.

MINDEN, LA (KSLA) - Webster Parish Sheriff’s patrol deputies arrested a man early Wednesday for a DWI 3rd offense.

Taylor Ray Smith, 20, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas was charged with DWI 3rd, improper lane usage, and driving under suspension of a DWI.

Smith was stopped by a patrol deputy while traveling south on US Hwy.

WEBSTER PARISH, LA (KSLA) – The Webster Parish Sheriff's Office says they've arrested one of their own deputies.

The sheriff's office says 21-year-old Deputy Anthony Baker, a dispatcher with the department, was arrested Wednesday night on allegations of indecency with two juveniles.

A 16-year-old Natchitoches Parish teen was killed Monday afternoon after the pickup truck he was in rolled over and crashed.

Louisiana State Police say the truck was traveling on Campti Bayou Road at an apparent high rate of speed when the driver lost control, ran off the road and rolled the vehicle over onto its roof. None of the three teens in the truck were wearing their seat belts.

Man wanted for allegedly beating woman now in jail

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – A Natchitoches Parish man wanted for allegedly attacking a former girlfriend is now in jail.

Police say 34-year-old Calvin Ray Moss turned himself in to police about 5 p.m. Thursday night. He was booked into the city jail on a charge of 2nd degree battery. His bond was set at $150,000.
