Northwestern State University’s Office of Counseling and Career Services is sponsoring a Spring/Summer Job Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Friedman Student Union Ballroom. The event is open to Northwestern State students and alumni.

The Northwestern State University Faculty Woodwind Quintet will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4m in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

The program will include works by Jacques Ibert, August Klughardt, Alvin Etler and Leos Janacek.

Benefactor donates trust to NSU Archives

Northwestern State University’s Cammie G. Henry Research Center received a trust of $200,000 from a benefactor whose collection of family documents has been managed by the NSU Archives for more than 40 years.  The bequest from the estate of the late Edward Myers Egan is the largest single monetary donation to benefit Northwestern State’s Eugene P. Watson Memorial Library.

Michael Yankowski, professor of art at Northwestern State University has been has been accepted into the Louisiana Purchase Second National Biennial Competition sponsored by Louisiana Tech University. Yankowski is one of 49 artists selected from entrants across the country.

Dr. Ryan Hancock, assistant professor in Northwestern State University’s Gallaspy (Family) College of Education and Human Development, published a review of Breaking Out II: The Complete Guide to Building a Positive LGBTI Identity, a manual for helping LGBTI individuals develop a positive self-image and acceptance of who they are within society.
