Because of problems with the water supply system, the East DeSoto Water System has put a boil advisory into place. The advisory will remain in effect until the water is deemed safe by the Department of Health and Hospitals.

The Springhill-North Webster Chamber of Commerce will hold a Solar Energy Public Forum at 1:30 p.m. July 6 in the Blue Room Civic Center, across from the mayor's offices. Energy Expert Dave Mitchell will be there to talk about solar energy and how you can make money by selling energy back to the electrical grid.

One of the two water wells that service the Chestnut/Readhimer in north Natchitoches Parish has quit working, and customers are being asked to conserve water as much as possible.

In an alert sent by Water System President Leslie Johnson, said it appears the well is no longer producing water and has more than likely dried up. Johnson said the remaining well is not capable of meeting what has become the normal water needs of its customers.

A meeting on the matter is set for Thursday evening.
