The Louisiana Office of State Parks has closed the boat launches at North Toledo Bend State Park, near Zwolle, and South Toledo Bend State Park, near Anacoco, to boat traffic. The water levels at the boat ramps at both parks are 12-14 inches deep, making it unsafe to launch boats.

Minden is hosting one of its biggest sporting events ever when the American Legion Mid-South Region 4 Tournament comes to town on August 4 - 8. The games will take place at Griffith Memorial Stadium, 808 Constable Street.

The City of Natchitoches’ Fourth of July celebration begins at 6 p.m. on the downtown riverbank with a musical performance by The Glenn Rainey Band.

The Glenn Rainey band brings the funk with an upbeat, melodic, and energetic groove inspired by New Orleans and fueled by soul. The band will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
